Construction Coordinator - Metal Framing and Drywall

Location: Morrisville, NC and surrounding areas

Company Description:

A leading construction company specializing in metal framing and drywall is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Coordinator. This role is crucial for the successful execution of projects, requiring excellent coordination, communication, and organizational skills. The Construction Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure project documentation, schedules, and processes are managed effectively.
 

Job Description:

The Construction Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating, filing, tracking, logging, reviewing, and communicating information and documentation on a project. This role provides both technical and administrative assistance to the Project Manager and Superintendent as required. Specific job responsibilities and skills include, but are not limited to:
 

Project Startup/Preconstruction:

• Assist the Project Manager in initializing project document logs (RFIs, Drawings, Submittals, etc.).
• Thoroughly review project specifications and help create a schedule for all required samples, shop drawings, test reports, and other submittal requirements. Organize the schedule according to company standard operating procedures and communicate with subcontractors to determine the quantity of submittal packages, due dates, etc.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to identify critical long-lead items and help develop a project procurement schedule.
• Set up an engineering document file system according to company standard procedures.
• Develop a thorough understanding of project plans and documents.

Construction:

• Coordinate with the Project Safety Manager to promote jobsite safety.
• Organize, manage, and track the submittal/shop drawing review process to help ensure that all required submittals are reviewed and approved in a timely manner.
• Work with the Project Manager and field supervision team in maintaining a current procurement schedule.
• Create and log clear and concise "Requests for Information" that will be understood and answered by the Project Design Team.
• Maintain and ensure that installations of our scopes of work are in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Assist the Project Manager with reviewing drawings for potential change orders.
• Track the distribution and storage of all documents, including drawing sets, specifications, sketches, RFIs, ASIs, permits, etc.
• Assist the Superintendent with coordination, including the coordination drawing process, coordination meetings, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in drywall and metal framing (Required).
