Community Support Specialist (LGSW)

Work Type: INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR 1099 (FULL-TIME  40 hours a week)

Please Note: This assignment currently reports to the client site and may allow some remote work.

Our client is seeking a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) or a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) to provide Community Based Support and Intervention.

CLIENT'S SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT

• Assists individuals in identifying personal recovery goals;
• Assists in identifying community resources such as housing, food banks and medical care;
• Provides psycho-educational and teaching symptom management skills;
• Assists individuals in developing their personal support system;
• Provides community support and case management services to children and/or adults;
• Provides services in a consumer’s natural environment at least 95% of the time;
• Assess consumer’s psychosocial needs and facilitate provision of services as detailed on a consumer’s Individual Treatment Plan;

• Masters’ Degree in Social Science or related field
• Must be licensed in Washington, DC (LGSW or LGPC)
• Strong oral and written communication skills;
• Strong organizational, computer, and time management skills;
• Previous work in the mental health field and/or social services/social work preferred;
• Must complete local, state and federal background checks as required by client and drug screening
