CNC PROGRAMMER/OPERATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direct guidance, direction, and oversight: Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of

output. Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job, programming measurements, and marking

material for cutting or shaping on VIP aircraft modifications in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings,

and FAA regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output

2. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job to meet blueprints requirements.

3. Knowledge of proper working material per engineering documentation and taking measurements and mark

material for cutting or shaping.

4. Knowledge on importing modes from Solidworks and Programming tool paths on Mastercam

5. Select appropriate tooling for Anderson Stratos Pro-3 axis router and position material for job.

6. Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.

7. Observes company rules and regulations, including housekeeping and proper use of safety methods and the safe

operation of equipment.

8. Adheres to all recordkeeping requirements and paperwork to ensure work is performed in accordance with stated

documents following the protocol of the RSQM and IOP’s.

9. Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature, identify issues and preform preventive

maintenance.

10. Ensure a tidy, safe, and productive work environment which is conducive to properly performing the tasks at

hand.

11. Other duties as assigned not specifically stated herein.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1. High school diploma or GED, plus Proven experience as machinist

2. Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (CNC,

grinders etc.)

3. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Strong ability to provide verbal and written communication.

2. Able to read, interpret and understand blueprints.

3. Must be self starting and motivated with the desire to learn

4. Ability to apply the use of routine to complex mathematical problems to solve work issues.

5. Ability to comprehend and retain OJT.

6. Must possess a proficient mechanical aptitude.

7. Ability to read measuring devices such as a scale or caliper or other required tools.

8. Ability to use basic shop equipment (drill press, band saw, sander, etc.).

9. Ability to use basic hand tools (grinder, drill motor, wrenches, etc.).

10. Ability to read and write English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The hangar where this position works is in an environment which may have exposure to excessive noise or adverse

environmental issues such as fluctuations in temperature. The employee in this position will experience occasional

outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements.

We are an aircraft interior completion center, located at 2910 S. High School Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46241, USA, just around the corner from the Indianapolis International Airport.

We hire cabinet makers, painters, upholstery techs, sheet metal techs, and finishers that don’t require certification and aircraft mechanics, avionics, and structure techs with experience and an A/P license.

Design through completion of an aircraft requires a clear vision and understanding of the project when technical, artistic, and managing skills are involved.
