CNC MACHINIST - MILL
Location: Bridgeport MI
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Operator: Set up, operate and maintain multi-axis milling centers to mill, surface, shape, groove and profile parts. Primarily loads parts, makes simple offsets, checks parts, and deburrs.
Machinist: Set up, operate and maintain multi-axis milling centers to mill, surface, shape, groove and profile parts. In addition to the above, will troubleshoot programs and help develop programs and fixturing with supervision of the Manufacturing Technician.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Set up machine per the setup sheet or customer print
- Perform weekly machine maintenance
- Perform first piece first article and in-process inspection of parts
- Deburr machined parts
- Remove metal chips from mills and place in proper chip bins
- Clean parts and move them to the next operation
- Perform offsets as needed
- Maintain tooling
- Perform weekly housekeeping per 6S schedule
- Assist and train others as needed
- Perform other duties as directed by the Cell Leader or management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum 2-5 years previous milling experience preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Must be able to read blueprints & interpret GD&T
- Ability to use hand measuring tools (ex. micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Familiarity with M & G codes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lifting up to 40 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Close or highly concentrated visual work
- Corrected vision of 20/20, preferred.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined for the position.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must submit to and pass background and substance abuse tests.
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States through eVerify.
- Must adhere to the Company Code of Conduct and Core Values.
- Must follow designated safety rules and regulations.
- Must be able to fulfill all the requirements of this position, including requirements related to the company’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System Policies and procedures.

- Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dirt, dust, disinfectants, solvents, cleaning chemicals, etc.
- Must be able to work extended hours (including weekends) as necessitated by production requirements.
