Cnc Lathe/Mill Machinist

JOB OVERVIEW:

Seeking a *THIRD SHIFT* CNC Machine Operator (Lathes AND Mills) in our Materials Research Division, working in the Metals Lab.

CNC Machinist is responsible for operating, loading/unloading CNC lathes or mills and
responsible for ensuring quality while achieving production goals. Little more multi-tasking required in this position, as you are operating both lathe and mill, sometimes at the same time. Good job for someone who likes a little extra challenge versus working on the same job, day after day.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Operate, load and unload CNC lathes or mills - achieve hourly/daily productivity goals
• Use precision instruments and measuring devices, including: micrometers, dial/digiter calipers, dial indicators and depth gauges to inspect workpieces in progress
• Based on inspection results, make adjustments and/or change cutting tools as needed, to ensure parts comply with diagram specifications and taking action if defective parts found
• Document process results accurately, using SPC charts, dimensional result forms, production logs, etc.
• Lift parts and other items from floor to waist and lift-push parts from waist into/onto workholding devices on a frequent basis.

• MUST have at LEAST 1 FULL YEAR CNC LATHE/MILL OPERATION EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or GED
• Works well with others in a fast-paced production, close team environment

• SHIFT HOURS:

• Third Shift: 11:00pm to 7:30am (8 hrs with 30 minute lunch)
• Monday-Friday
