Job Description:

Engineer, P.E., responsible to lead consulting engineering and technical projects for our office and our clients across Arizona and Nevada.  Work involves a full range of building-related inspection services for projects in building construction, technology and efficiency, real estate risk management, due diligence, and other building engineering projects. A Chief Engineer will accomplish this by organizing and controlling all elements of a project during the execution phase in collaboration with project management.

 

The selected candidate will interface directly with a diverse set of commercial and residential clients, on-staff professional engineers, other field technicians (EIT’s), the support staff, and the Owner to meet a variety of inspection and engineering consulting needs in the fast-growing Phoenix and Las Vegas area.  This is an established, growing company with process, goals and highly motivated staff.

This position includes significant engineering fieldwork across a diverse set of activities and responsibilities including many of the following:

  • Direct daily interaction and communication with a variety of clients
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with staff and/or Leadership Team.
  • Serve as day-to-day point of contact for key clients in collaboration with Project Management.
    • Manage task completion in accordance with expected deliverables and consulting budget.
    • Provide technical consulting services as defined by project scope.
    • Provide clear and responsive feedback to clients about their projects.
  • Actively participate in project meetings and weekly team meetings.
  • Initiating, editing, coordinating written detailed reports using our established processes and templates.
  • Perform field inspections on the full spectrum of buildings, including old and new construction, residential and commercial structures, and high and low-rise buildings.
  • Assisting with Homeowner / Condo Association Reserve Studies
  • Due Diligence Inspections including Property Condition Assessments (PCA) and Environmental Site Assessments (ESA).
  • Interaction with commercial and residential real estate brokers.
  • Review construction documents, blueprints to evaluate a project’s constructability from an engineering, materials and other relevant perspectives (e.g. Constructability Reviews).
  • Write, review and assess inspection proposals and reports for clients, ensuring clients receive clear, timely and high-quality reports for assigned projects including field inspections, technical writing and associated cost estimations. 
  • Other specialty engineering consulting and inspection services such as insurance claims investigations, energy and sustainability studies, fire/life safety studies, structural evaluations, etc.
  • Interoffice knowledge exchange and transfer.
  • Working knowledge of LEED/energy analysis, structural analysis, Cost segregation studies, Reserve Study, PCA, ESA.
  • Senior Engineer: Advise, coach, and develop other engineers within the organization, including corporate and affiliate office staff.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and complete communications with Operations, Project Management staff, Owner ensuring project needs and deadlines are being met.

 

All job tasks are outlined through a detailed operations manual that includes well established processes and standards that ensure the highest quality results for every client.  This position also requires office work as the selected candidate will be required to write / edit / review reports for each project utilizing established templates that provide each client with a customized and specific report addressing their need.

 

In performing the above responsibilities and any additional responsibilities that arise, our Professional Engineer must effectively and professionally interface with various members of the organization including engineers from other sister companies and  headquarters.

 

This position will require travel to job sites around the Phoenix metro area, throughout Arizona and our office in Las Vegas, Nevada.  



 

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering Technology.
  • 3 to 7 years (Project) or 7+ years (Senior) of direct experience as a Project Engineer in a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years (Senior) of demonstrated leadership in a consulting engineering market with responsibility for highly technical or complex projects.
  • Licensed, Professional Engineer preferred with ability/desire to obtain NV license or AZ license.
  • Knowledge and/or interest in building construction activities, including a practical knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials.
