Childcare Assistants are responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care, which may include toddlers and/or preschool-age children and/or school-age children; develops partnerships with parents/guardians to engage and encourage parent participation in the program.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in serving meals/snacks and sit with children while they eat;
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children after school and at all times; maintain Proper class ratio;
- Plan daily program (developmental activities) in detail for assigned age group; submit weekly lesson plans due by Thursday of each week;
- Place toys and materials at children’s level for their easy access;
- Check toys and equipment daily/weekly for their safe after-school usage;
- Treating children with dignity and respect.
- Helping children to become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
- Being responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor, and classroom learning environment.
- Assuming an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
- Attending all staff meetings.
- Planning and implementing methods of establishing a positive liaison with the parents of the students.
- Assisting in public-relations events sponsored by the school.
Job Skills & Qualifications

- Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- CPR/first aid certification
- One year of experience working with students
