Job Description:

Duties of Position

  • Must be knowledgeable in AIMD Calibration Laboratory programs and processes.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, prints and electrical/electronic symbols.
  • Must have knowledge of calibrating physical/mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment associated with a FCA.
  • Should be proficient in working onsite with installed ship board systems and have basic knowledge in Measure Interactive Query system (MIQ) and NALCOMIS systems.
  • Performs calibration and repair within laboratory capabilities, to include the following equipment: AC/DC voltage, and current measurement and generation equipment; resistance measurement and generation equipment; microwave devices and measurements including VSWR, RF power, and attenuation; capacitance measurement and generation equipment; frequency and phase measurement and generation equipment; accelerometers utilizing the DI-811 calibrator; physical and mechanical measurement devices including force, torque, incompressible flow, length, mass, temperature, and pressure; General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) including: oscilloscopes, time domain reflectometers, signal generators, multi-meters, counters, function generators, power supplies, communication analyzers, and spectrum analyzers; and Navy Aviation Special Purpose Test Sets including air data, IFF, navigation, swept frequency, night vision, synchro/servo, hydraulic, fuel quantity, and weapons stray voltage.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5 yrs recent C4ISR or other relevant experience in testing aviation precision measurement and automatic test equipment.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing and calibrating aviation precision measurement and automatic test equipment.
  • Posse mechanical calibration capabilities with torque multipliers, vacuum gauges, oxygen monitors, specific gravity hydrometers, and vibration accelerometers
  • Experience using test equipment including micrometers, dynamometers, torque wrenches and pressure gauges
  • Posse mechanical calibration capabilities with dimensional, micrometers, calipers(Vernier, dial and digital), depth gauges, dial indicators, levels, weights and durometers
  • Experience Force capabilities with load cells, platform scales, crane scales, dynamometers, and strain indicators
  • Posse mechanical calibration capabilities with gaseous flowmeters, hygrometry, mass test weights, pressure transducers, mechanical tachometers and temperature pyrometers
  • This position requires a Secret US DoD security clearance.

  • Strong Customer Service Experience
  • Computer literate and Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Possess Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certificates
  • Posses USMC Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) codes: 2871, 6492
  • Possess Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) Codes for calibration technicians:  6673, 6718, 1588, 1589

Additional Notes

Completion of an appropriate military “A" school and completion of at least one appropriate military “B" or "C" school may be substituted for the two year requirement; Associate’s or higher in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), Technology Management (TM), Information Systems (IS), Information Resources Management (IRM), Information Technology (IT) or Physics.

Remarks

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
