CAD Technician

Responsibilities of the CAD Technician:

• Interpret plans and specifications
• Pay attention to details
• Communicate with Estimators / Project Managers
• Keep supervisor informed of workloads and progress
• Improve industry knowledge and skills
• Use company forms and formats
• Ask for help when needed
• Work effectively with a supervisor
• Keep all paperwork organized and easy to locate
• Keep all CAD drawings organized on the computer
• Provide input and ideas for the department
• Always be professional, courteous and calm, with a good sense of humor

Requirements of the CAD Technician:

•  A minimum of ten (10) years industry experience with various sized projects, with direct experience in specifically drawing large storefronts, window walls, curtain walls and other glazing systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D (at least version 2017) and Revit
• Ability to read architectural/structural drawings
• Ability to use Microsoft Word / Excel / Projects with proficiency
• Have strong attention to detail, carefully following instructions and checking work for accuracy
• Demonstrate good timekeeping and a strong work ethic, characterized by commitment, motivation and energy
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people 
• Work cooperatively as part of a team, as opposed to working separately or competitively
• Ability to take direction from direct Supervisor or Project Manager
• Ability to work in the face of pressure of deadlines
