Job Summary
Commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced business development professional that is responsible for identifying and developing new ways to grow an organization and build its long-term value. A background in business development in construction is a plus. The ideal candidate must be able to establish and maintain relationships that lead to repeat and new business to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Contributes and leads sales to achieve the company financial goals through influencing relationships with new bid opportunities, successful bids and creating repeat client relationships.
- Calls upon Owners, Architects, Engineers, and other such influential individuals for the acquisition of work.
- Successfully creates company awareness in our industry by earning the respect and trust of potential clients through the attendance of industry related meetings, luncheons, and other networking functions (2-4 per week) in order to create new business opportunities for the company.
- Oversees all marketing to continuously expand the company “reach” indicated by a continued increase in the “following” through social media, with a measured increase of in bound opportunities through social media platforms, video content creation, physical marketing materials and overall branding.
- Co-plans and executes the annual budget for marketing and business development.
- Tracks and reports all departmental graphs and data to accurately report for leadership evaluations of the Company status in relation to annual goods.
- Manages each client/opportunity throughout the entire process from inception, bid, negotiation, start-up, construction, close-out, and the next opportunity.
- Promotes and adheres to our Company Core Values and the advancement of our Mission Statement.
Skills and Qualifications
- Expertise in Sales: prospecting, proficient in Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms, qualifying leads, and nurturing relationships with clients.
- Strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Proven history of experience working as a Business Development Executive in the construction industry.
- Business intelligence skills: researching the needs of the business and its competitors to gain a broader view of the target market, collecting, and analyzing data, research, and development.
- Able to track returns on investments (ROI) and have the data to support it when presenting to Leadership.
- Successful track record in sales and negotiation.
- Creative skills: Seeing new ways on how existing opportunities could be developed or finding completely new routes to market.
