As part of the Design Technology Program and working under the direct supervision of the company-wide Design Technology Manager, the BIM/VDC Coordinator interfaces with multiple studios/brands to provide technical leadership. The BIM/VDC Coordinator is looked to for mentoring, technical support, standards implementation, and training. This is an excellent opportunity for a BIM specialist or Technologist to advance their skills in several technology applications, gain project experience with high level clients and gain exposure to more advanced technology management processes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Design Technology mentor to a variety of project teams
- Assist Revit users in creating efficient and high-quality deliverables
- Perform model audits to ensure file stability and maximum efficiency
- Demonstrate best practices for model organization and modeling technique
- Implement BIM standards as outlined by Design Technology Manager
- Identify and document standards discrepancies
- Diagnose, document and troubleshoot technical support issues
- Assisting in creating training materials to explain processes and procedures
- Provide QAQC oversight by leveraging reporting tools
- Create and maintain BIM’s and other project files
- Guide project coordination workflows and application interoperability
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of AEC office experience
- 5-10 years of practical Revit experience
- Familiarity with mainstream design technologies e.g. BIM 360, Bluebeam, Enscape etc.
- Understanding of project development phases SD through CA
- Experience with 3D coordination workflows
- Proficiency with Microsoft office suite
- Desire to mentor others who are not as technically proficient
- Interest in new technologies and their role in improving project quality and efficiency
- Bachelor’s in Architecture and/or Associates in architecture/building technology preferred
