Job Description:

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  A high school diploma with at least 2 years professional or volunteer direct care experience with adolescents.

3. Must be 21 years of age and have valid AZ driver’s license.

4. Must be able to obtain a negative TB skin test or x-ray.

5. Must be able to maintain DPS fingerprint card with no restrictions. NO interlock needed to drive. Must drive company vans.

6. Must pass a background check completed by CPS.
 

The shifts you would take would be a variation of weekend and weekdays. Saturdays and Sunday shifts are 8 AM till 10 PM (14 hours) and weekdays are 2 PM till 10 PM (8 hours). When MPS school district is out on break, holiday shifts can be 8 AM till 4 PM and 2 PM till 10 PM.
 

Typical shifts will include one weekend and 1 - 2 week days prior or following. For example Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
 

You can also apply for PRN position. So you would fill in if someone called out sick or is taking vacation days.
 

Technician duties include the daily supervision of clients, always placing the clients health, safety, and welfare first. They are responsible for maintaining an appropriate, positive, and interactive relationship with clients, as well as other staff. MT’s must be able to utilize both therapeutic interactions and interventions with clients. The position requires the active participation in team/community meetings, including on-going training and supervision provided by The U-turn Foundation. The position requires the ability to facilitate daily check-in and psycho-educational groups. Must have good writing skills to complete daily progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation. Also, responsible for transporting and supervising clients on outings and other off grounds activities.

Ability to work cooperatively with agency personnel at all levels. Have a willingness to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Be able to accept supervision and support, demonstration of strong sense of self-identity. Must be able to keep record confidentiality and be dependable. Have the capacity to perform the essential functions of the position which may involve a variety of physical activities, including but not limited to sports, camping, hiking, etc. It is expected that BHT’s remain active and involved on the floor at all times, which includes interacting with clients, maintaining awareness of client’s location and activities at all times.
 

You will be assisting/supervising clients with preparing their own meals. If you choose to eat with them, then no need to bring meals for yourself. AKA free food!

The U-Turn Foundation is a non-profit residential behavioral health facility located in Mesa @ Val Vista Drive & the 60. We have two group homes with ten beds each and our clients are adolescent males from 12 to 17 years of age.
