- Must dress grinding bearings according to specifications
- Monitoring of machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary; stop machines when problems occur.
- Inspects feels, and measure work pieces to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications.
- Set up and operates grinding or polishing machines
- Performs basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts.
Job Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to quickly move the hand, the hand together with the arm or the two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- Prior experience with grinding machines beneficial however, will train the right person
