Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for adjudicating claims according to written contract. This position is also responsible for providing customer service in explaining contract terms by performing the following duties.
 

Primary Responsibilities

• Audits claims.
• Provides support to claims representatives.
• Answers phones, both general, major components and escalated issues (as needed).
• Reviews contract coverage.
• Adjudicates mechanical claims.
• Adjudicates claims to help control loss of reserves.
• Reviews inspections.
• Provides customer service.
• Reviews mail-in claims for possible coverage.
• Audits claims for Claims Representatives’ accuracy.
• Resolves internal and external customer inquiries.
• Documents files to include all key activities regarding estimates, repairs and evaluations summary reflecting and revisions.
• Provides recommendations as a result of findings.
• Complete audits on claim files.
• Implements process change as required.
• Provides leadership support should the Claims Manager and/or Supervisor not be available.
• From time to time will aide in the training and mentoring of new employees.

Required

• Two year technical automotive degree; and minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Friendly, courteous, service-oriented flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff.
• Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; able to manage multiple projects.
• Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
• Average to Above Average Automotive knowledge for an experienced technician.

Preferred

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as contracts, claim procedure guides and coverage pages. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Database Software (Access); Internet Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).
• ASE Certifications are preferred; Major Components: Engine, Automatic Transmission, Manual Drive Train and Axles. If certifications have expired, or you do not currently have these ASE Certifications, we expect you to become certified within your first six months of employment.
