Position Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist performs routine and specialized accounting functions; prepares routine accounting reports; and performs other related work as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Scans or deposits via scanner then applies cash receipts against outstanding receivables.
Apply applicable credits from overpayments
Reviews periodically suspense account for payments to be applied
Transfers money within funds
Review client rent payment terms and proper set-up within the billing system.
Works closely with accountants in charge of treasury operations to post cash receipts to proper G/L accounts and achieve billing and collection goals.
Verify/confirm wire transfers, credit/debit card receipts and apply
Input rent subsidy ACH payments and vouchers (except for SSI billing)
Analyze and prepare related reports as called upon
Back-up for releasing tenant monthly rent invoices
Update cash receipts journal and process corresponding receivable credits and cash revenues
Prepare and make bank deposits as needed
Maintain accounting record files as directed
Prepare excel reports
Interact with clients and other departments
