The Town of Wellesley is currently seeking a full-time (35 hours/week) Accounting Clerk for the Treasurer/Collector’s office. Responsibilities of this position include communicating with the public in a courteous and professional manner; the proper accounting and recording of monies received on a daily basis; processing over the counter tax payments and electronic payment files; and performing basic office tasks. Minimum qualifications include the ability to provide high quality customer service while multitasking, a high school degree or equivalent; one year experience with accounting, bookkeeping, financial reports or related duties; excellent math, cash and check handling skills; working knowledge of PCs and other office equipment; ability to learn MA General Laws concerning tax collection; ability to work with and understand the functions of banks and other Town departments; familiarity with MUNIS is a plus. Rate range is $26.83 - $33.44 with an excellent benefit package.
