Hawaiian Properties, Ltd. is one of the oldest locally owned and operated property management companies in the State of Hawaii.
We are currently seeking an Accountant. The Accountant provides financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate accounting of association accounts.
Responsibilities
- Perform activities for Accounting. Includes, but not limited to the following:
- o Maintain association general ledger and subsidiary accounts
- o Prepare and post journal entries
- o Reconcile bank accounts
- o Prepare financial statements for multiple associations
- o Review delinquency reports and prepare collection letters
- o Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns (general excise tax)
- o Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- o Maintain records by filing accounting documents
- Handle customer service calls from owners, tenants, and staff in a professional manner
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Assist with special projects and analyses as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited college or experience in an accounting related field is preferable
- Prior experience in Accounting required
- Experience in Property Management field is preferable but not necessary.
- Able to use 10-key by touch.
- Must also be able to operate general office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel and Word).
- Knowledge of Timberline accounting system is helpful but not necessary.
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Able to handle situations with clients, customers, co-workers, and the general public in a manner conforming to pre-set Superior Quality Service guidelines
- Possess a service-oriented attitude toward customers and employees within the company.
- Able to work as a member of a team as well as work independently.
- Able to analyze a situation and formulate an effective plan of action.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment and with a high degree of accuracy and tight deadlines
Work hours are from 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
