NAMS Transportation has been successfully providing transportation for 40+ years to senior citizens and adults with disabilities in Northern Allegheny County and the city of Pittsburgh. Your support will empower senior citizens and adults with disabilities to maintain their independence, engage with their community, and pursue their passions. Whether it's a trip to the grocery store, a medical appointment, or simply a fun outing, your presence as a driver will bring joy and freedom to those who need it most. As an ACCESS Driver, your kindness and compassion will brighten someone's day and make a difference in their life.

  • Lift van drivers start at - $19.00 per hour or $21 for evenings/$24 weekends
  • Sedan drivers start at - $16.00 per hour or $18 for evenings/ $20 weekends

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Territory: Northern Allegheny County/City of Pittsburgh
  • Must have a valid PA Driver's license with no suspensions in the last 5 years
  • 5 years of personal driving experience/history required
  • Applicants must pass background checks/drug tests (company paid)
  • All Lift Van applicants must pass a DOT physical

Company Description:

The Transportation Department of NAMS provides transit services to the City of Pittsburgh and the suburbs of northern Allegheny County from 6 a.m. until midnight 365 days a year for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Wheelchair vans and passenger vehicles are available depending on riders’ needs.

Organizations serviced by the NAMS Transportation Department include:

  • NAMS programs
  • Allegheny County Department of Aging
  • ACCESS Transportation Systems of Allegheny County
  • Department of Public Welfare

Transportation services are provided in conjunction with ACCESS.
