Society of Hospital Medicine is seeking candidates for the role as 3D Generalist for our team, supporting the Advanced Concepts Lab at NASA Langley Research Center. The ACL provides a full suite of multimedia solutions to NASA Langley from poster and images to photorealistic renderings and animations to Virtual Reality environments to 3D printed models.
The position requires a diverse range of experience to contribute to the planning and implementation of innovative multimedia products. A strong background in all aspects of the graphics development pipeline combined with strong communications and organization skills is required. This position will require on site presence for strong and consistent coordination with the team and customer.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in multimedia, arts, graphics, or equivalent
1-2 years of demonstrated experience
Ability to visually solve problems in collaboration with a broader team including other artists, engineers or scientists
Ability to work independently or in collaboration with a team
Strong communications and organization skills
Technical Experience & Skillets Desired:
Ability to effectively present concepts & ideas
Ability to create thematic narrative & storyboards
Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as Maya, Modo, Blender
Proficiency in Adobe Create Cloud tools including Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
Experience with Virtual and Augmented Reality a bonus
Experience with gaming engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal) a bonus
Experience with 3D printing a bonus
