One of my clients desires part time care for his wife with advanced Parkinsons. They are seeking a person of integrity, someone who is cheerful, responsible, conscientious and enlightened. They are a non-religious, progressive household. Two grown daughters live very close by and are deeply involved and would be available if difficult situations arise. The client’s husband will also be available. While a nursing certificate or nursing experience would be desirable, this is not required. Two references and a free background check are required prior to hire.
LOCATION:
Portland, OR 97202
HOURS:
Flexible 20-26 hours per week
CARE:
Ensure that medications are taken as prescribed
Take client outside for walks (uses a walker)
Help with basic physical, speech, & cognitive therapy (family will personally train; client can dress, use the bathroom, and shower independently)
Put out snacks & lunch prepared by the family
Prep very light meals (boil eggs, make toast, heat food)
Transport to occasional appointments (will reimburse for gas/mileage)
Very light housekeeping such as clearing the dishes, making the bed, folding laundry, etc. No cooking or cleaning is required.
RATE: $30 per hour
